    Preparation method

    1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
    2. Cook the asparagus in boiling water for 2 minutes. Rinse them in cold water to stop the cooking process. Pat them dry with kitchen paper.
    3. Lay the puff pastry sheets on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Leave to defrost for a while. Place a slice of ham on each slice of puff pastry. Divide the asparagus over the ham. Fold the puff pastry into a rectangle. Press the sides with a fork to seal.
    4. Beat the egg. Brush the top of the pastry with the egg. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 20 minutes until golden brown and cooked.

     

    1. Prefer not to use meat? Replace the ham with two slices of plant-based chorizo or with a half slice of mature goat cheese.
