Slice the turmeric or grate on a fine grater. Slice the lime into wedges.
Bring 1 litre of water with the turmeric to the boil and boil for 10 minutes. Add the cinnamon stick, 2 wedges of lime and the pepper and leave to infuse for 5 minutes.
Pour the tea through a sieve into the glasses. Add extra lime or a little honey if you like.
