The strawberry is still synonymous with summer, as it used to be a summer crop. But, nowadays, strawberries can be enjoyed 12 months a year. Growers in the Netherlands and Belgium have brought the fruit inside into a warm greenhouse. In other periods of the year, fellow growers in southern countries help keep up supplies. And strawberry breeders keep on innovating. The new strawberry varieties are deliciously sweet, and that is part of the selection criteria we apply at EAT ME. Remove the crown and indulge yourself!
The strawberry seems to have been invented to enjoy as it is, pure and natural. But it is extremely versatile in the kitchen too. Garnishing a cake with a few strawberries sliced in half adds the finishing touch. And blend a few handfuls to create a luscious shake or smoothie.
Simply rinse before use and you are ready to go: eat as they are, combine strawberries with other summer fruit in a sunny salad or use as a garnish.
Strawberries will keep happily in the fridge for a few days.

We source EAT ME strawberries from many countries: locally in the Netherlands and Belgium, further away in Spain and Egypt and Morocco when the fruits need a little more sunshine. Growers first grow small plants and after a year they are large enough to pot up and grow on. The plants keep on reproducing. The mother plants produce numerous runners with baby plants at the tips.
