More refined flavour
Appearance-wise there is little difference between the large and mini beetroots. Until you bite into them. The EAT ME mini beetroot has an even sweeter flavour. They also have a more tender and finer structure. That makes mini beetroots such fine company on a plate.
Mini beetroots come in round and oval shapes. They have deep, red flesh, with pink and white rings and there is a yellow version too. Did you know that the leaves at the base of the stem are edible too? If you are a spinach lover, it’s a shame to discard those tasty leaves!
You can use mini beetroots in exactly the same way as the larger ones. But that appealing small size invites you to consider other novel uses. Go chic and pair them with scallops and mini fennel or thread them onto a vegetable skewer.
Wash the mini beetroot before use. The skin is also edible. You can cook them, use in oven dishes or add to a fresh salad. Don't forget to use the spinach-like leaves attached to the base of the stem!
Mini beetroot is best kept in the fridge.
Beetroots, including the miniature versions, are high in fibre. They are also a source of potassium, the mineral that is good for muscle functioning.
