Chilli or cayenne pepper: this chilli answers to both names. With its striking curved shape and vibrant red colour, you can't miss the cayenne pepper in the vegetable category. It is one of the most widely used chillies in the kitchen and it owes its popularity to its somewhat milder flavour. At EAT ME we use our own ‘hot scale’ to express how hot chillies are. The cayenne pepper scores a 7 on the scale, so not too spicy.
If you want to add a hint of hot spice to your dish but don't want a dominant flavour, we highly recommend the EAT ME cayenne pepper. The hotness also depends on the colour you choose. Red and yellow chillies have a hotter flavour while green ones are milder. The cayenne pepper is also often used in powdered form.
