The pineapple is an exotic fruit that is almost commonplace in Western European shops. Much less well known is the smaller version of the fruit, the mini pineapple or baby pineapple. This fruit does not grow much larger than 10-20 centimetres. EAT ME mini pineapples weigh no more than 400 grams. But, you can eat the whole fruit, including the hard inner core that you normally have to remove.
Mini pineapple varieties are often chosen for their extra sweet taste. Compared to the larger ones, the mini variant usually has a slightly higher sugar content. The fruits are picked ripe. Once you buy one in the shop it is ready to enjoy. Make sure the leaves are still bright green and the fruit looks a little shiny.
