Exotic but easy to peel
Lychees are exotic but can certainly stake their claim to fame in the fruit category in Western Europe. EAT ME lychees are not much larger than 3-5 centimetres and their lush pink skin is a real eye-catcher. This skin feels slightly rough, with tiny bumps. The fact that it is so easy to peel has also contributed to the popularity of the lychee. The thick skin can be removed remarkably quickly. So you can enjoy the flavour without delay! How do you open a lychee? Press the ripe fruit with both thumbs and the skin will crack open. Peel the fruit and remove the seed with a knife. Lychees are very popular as an ingredient in salads, as a snack or blended.
If you don't plan to eat all the EAT ME lychees at once, you can enjoy them for longer if you store them in the fridge.

EAT ME lychees come from Africa. Lychee trees can grow as high as 20 metres. The trees are prolific and can bear fruit for up to 20-30 years. The fruit is ready for harvest when the skin starts to develop more colour and feels less prickly. Our growers use cherry pickers to reach up into the trees. Lychees hang in bunches. The unripe fruits are cut from these bunches.
